Short Background/History:
The daughter of one of the top Japanese Music Producer, Minasu Ieyasu, Iori is a charming young girl of quick wit, polite poise and grace. (Some say she is a is a spoiled rich girl who flaunts her family's wealth, but hey, you can't believe everything, right?) She is quite polite and refined on stage and in public, although some claim (including Iori herself) that she can have a very sharp tongue in private. Due to having three older brothers, Iori has grown up with a deep complex of hating to lose, and thus does not like showing weaknesses. She does have a much softer side that she shows from time to time, making her personality that of a perfect tsundere girl. The stuffed rabbit that she carries around with her constantly is named "Usa-chan"
When Iori joined 765 Productions, she quickly gained for herself a reputation for the Princess of the Stage. She got a very large and beloved gathering of fans, staying with the small fledgling company as more girls were added on.
Iori said of those first days, "It was a real learning experience for me. My brothers were much older than me, so I never grew up with them. As I was home schooled, I never had friends over except those who came to visit, and they were told to be nice to me... So in a way, their friendship was totally like my servants - all forced. I could say what I want and not pay the price. None of that crap held up in the Idol studio. None of the girls owed me anything, and a lot of them let me know that, especially Ricchan (Ritsuko, who later became Iori's Producer). It was only months later, when I heard girls talking about about me behind my back, causing me to cry, did I realise I finally had something to lose. I wanted these girls to respect me, I wanted them to like me for me...and I did care what they thought and how they felt. These girls...all of them...are my siblings..God Bless them."
It wasn't easy, being an idol proved to keep being more and more of a challenge. Even Makoto Kikuchi (菊地 真), a fellow idol of Iori's, said, "Some think Iori got it easy because of her pop, but to be honest, it weren't all that. I remember that girl falling to the mat with the rest of us, panting and gasping, unable to move another inch, due to the rigorous practice. We all spent time after the training massaging one another's legs and ankles to get them to loosen up and relax. Iori never asked for, nor was offered, an easy way out. Her performance attest strongly to this."
Eventually Iori's strong performances earned her a spot in the first trio-group of 765 Pro, headed by Iori's former fellow idol, and now Producer, Akizuki Ritsuko (秋月 律子). Together with two other fellow 765 Pro'ers, Miura Azusa (三浦 あずさ) and Futami Ami (双海 亜美), they formed a group called Ryuuguu Komachi (竜宮小町), which has gone on to have a huge string of hits, the first of which was 'Smoky Thrill'.
Though she is from a very rich, Iori is closest friends with a girl named Takatsuki Yayoi (高槻 やよい), a girl who - ironically - comes from a rather poor family. This, some whisper, has turned to romance..and the two are often seen together, having a closeness that may have gone beyond 'sisterhood'.
Even at her young age, Iori has an incredible history and reputation. And somewhere out there, she continues to do what she's always done...entertain.
